The parable of the workers in the vineyard

20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard. “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ So they went. “He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’ “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered. “He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’ “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’ “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’ 13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’ 16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”  (Matthew 20:1-16)
Here we see that this landowner hired people to work in his vineyard and agreed to pay them a denarius for the day. He went out to hire more people to work at different times of the day. At the end of the day, they were given wages. From the last to the first, each got a denarius. The ones who were hired first came and complained to the landowner, those who were hired last worked only one hour and they got the same pay as them. Here we see that people who were hired first were strong, and those who were hired later were relatively weak. The weakest ones were hired last and were poor, because usually owners didn’t like to hire the weak, so they were poor. We saw this landowner is merciful to the weak and the poor and generously gave them the same pay.

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”(Luke 21:1-4)
Here we see that a poor widow put in two very small copper coins into the temple treasury. Lord Jesus said that she had put in more than all the others, because all these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.

27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” 28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. (Matthew 19:27-30)
Here we see that Peter and other uneducated fishermen left everything to follow Lord Jesus and will receive great rewards in the future. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the Lord will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11)
Those who are self-righteous, those who exalt themselves will be humbled. The Lord gives grace to the humble, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. The Lord is merciful to the poor and the weak, and he makes the weak strong.
May God bless you and your family. 🙏😊🌷
