The parable of the mustard seed

31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32)
Here Lord Jesus teaches another parable, the parable of the mustard seed, the man is the Son of Man, Lord Jesus, the field is the world, Lord Jesus planted the seed of the kingdom of heaven in the world. This seed is like a mustard seed. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it grows up, it is the largest of garden plants and become a big tree. The kingdom of heaven was small at beginning, but it grows to the largest. We know that the the gospel is spread globally, the kingdom of God is developed globally. When the Lord Jesus comes again, He will rule the world for a thousand year and the world will be at peace. In the parable, the birds of the sky come and perch in its branches. The kingdom of God becomes a shelter, home, a place of rest for the people.30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” (Mark 4:30-32)
The difference between this parallel passage and Gospel Matthew is that here it talks about with big branches, also the birds in the sky rest in its shade, while in the previous passage it talks about the birds rest in the branches.

18 Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.” (Luke 13:18-19)
Here Gospel Luke talks about the mustard seed grows in the garden, while in the previous passages the mustard seed grows in the field.  All talks about the kingdom of God grows from very small to very large, and finally it becomes a global one.

May God bless you and your family. 🙏😊
